Format descriptions

State of the art lectures: Each lecture of 30 minutes will be given by a distinguished and renowned expert and will be devoted to a specific topic of major interest.

Master lectures: Each lecture of 30 minutes will be given by experienced senior members and will be devoted to a specific topic of major interest.

Round tables: This session will usually last 90 minutes. They will focus on a particular topic and present the very latest data related to it. The round table will include a maximum of 5 lectures and time for discussion.

Interactive sessions: These sessions will last 45 minutes and present case discussion with a questioner and a panel of experts. Attendees will be given the chance to actively interact with the faculty of the session via a voting system.

Point counter point sessions: These sessions will last 30 minutes and be organized to address the controversial issues of a topic. The moderator will allow a brief introduction of each topic by the respective opponents followed by a discussion on the arguments proposed.

Instructional courses: These 45-minute sessions present a detailed account of a chosen topic. Courses are designed to provide learning experiences that actively involve participants and will include an opportunity for informal exchange with the faculty.

Podium sessions: Podium sessions will present the best abstract papers accepted for the congress by the Scientific Committee and will focus on specific topics presenting the very latest findings in this field. Each session will last 90 minutes and will consist of maximum 10 presentations per session. Each presentation is limited to 6 minutes followed by 3 minutes of discussion.

Moderated poster sessions: Authors will be invited to submit papers on their latest research findings or important ongoing research. The moderated poster sessions will be selected by the Scientific Committee based on a review of all abstract submissions. The most interesting posters are grouped by topics and presented in a 90-minute moderated session. Each session will consist of a maximum of 15 talks in the same general field. Each presentation is limited to 2 minutes followed by 3 minutes of discussion.

Poster exhibition: Authors will be invited to submit papers on their latest research findings or important ongoing research. Posters will be selected by the Scientific Committee based on a review of all abstract submissions. The poster exhibition will be scheduled from Monday to Wednesday.

Sponsored symposium: Symposia will be organized by the industry in consultation with the Scientific Committee.

Humor in sexual medicine: This session has become a tradition of ISSM meetings. Slides and videos which poke fun at sex and sexuality will give the audience a short break from serious science.

Guided poster tour: The tour of the unmoderated posters will be guided by senior clinicians and researchers who will point out the important features of posters. Authors will be encouraged to attend the guided tour so that they can be present when their own posters are discussed.
